The Importance of a picture
Well maybe some will feel like we are trying to teach people to ''suck eggs'' but due to an increasing number of people not uploading a picture of their stud or bitch warrants an article.
Advertising your handsome boy or stunning lady is the same as promotions everywhere...they need to be seen! Very rarely do busy people of today investigate an advert if they cannot glance at a picture first to asses whether they wish to look further for information.
Which brings up another issue to discuss, picture quality. A silhouette of your dog sat with the lovely sunny day going on in the background is not going to attract people. They don't want to see your weather in your part of the country, they want to see your dog!
Try to limit the amount of things going on in the background. The best photos are often taken on grass with no background other than a bush or wall or more grass! it lets people focus on your dog alone.
Always bear in mind, we scan pictures regularly and choose the ones that stand out the most with a good background and a clear image to upload onto the home page. We rotate home page pictures often. Its a great advantage being on the front page for everyone that visits to see. To get an idea of good pictures, look at the home page photo's.
